From The Chocolaterie

Chocolate and Movies

“Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands – and then eat just one of the pieces”. Judith Viorst.

Chocolate has had many a starring role in TV shows and movies. Here are a select few that will stir a chocolate craving:

Chocolat (2000)

Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche in Chocolat

Everyone remembers “Chocolat” with Vianne (Juliette Binoche) creating magical chocolates in her unusual shop.  The villagers are observing Lent and Vianne’s chocolates become the biggest temptation!

Her ability to perceive her customers’ desires and tempt them with just the right chocolate proves too much for the villagers who abandon themselves to temptation and happiness. How I wish I could have that magical ability!

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)

Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka

“It’s scrumdidilyumptious” (What a magnificent word)! The unforgettable story by Roald Dahl of the magical, wonderful world of Willie Wonka’s chocolate factory. Chocolate waterfalls and Oompa Loompas – everyone can relate to this timeless classic.

Or do you prefer the 2005 version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp playing the eccentric Willie Wonka?

I Love Lucy: Lucy’s Famous Chocolate Scene

This one dates back to the 1950s and is hilarious! Chocolate causing havoc!

Forrest Gump – “Life is like a box of chocolates”
